Tail Lift Deliveries Across Auckland and the North Island
Not every delivery address has a forklift or a loading bay. Homes, small businesses and building sites need a carrier that can get a ranch slider, a fridge or a king-size bed from the truck to the ground safely. Every truck in the Secure Transport fleet has a tail lift, and our drivers deliver to residential addresses every day across Metro Auckland and on our weekly North Island runs.
A tail lift is a powered platform at the back of the truck. Your item is wheeled onto it inside the truck and lowered gently to the ground - no lifting heavy, awkward items down from deck height, and far less risk of damage to the item, the driveway or anyone's back.
What We Deliver to Homes and Sites
How Residential Freight Delivery Works
We Confirm the Day
We let you or your customer know the delivery day before we arrive. Outside Auckland, it's the fixed day on our weekly delivery schedule for that area.
Lowered on the Tail Lift
The driver brings the item to the back of the truck and lowers it to the ground on the tail lift - no forklift, ramp or loading dock needed.
Placed Where You Need It
The item is placed at ground level at the agreed spot, and a proof of delivery is recorded so everyone knows it has arrived.
For Businesses Delivering to Their Customers
Joinery manufacturers, furniture and bed retailers and garage door suppliers use Secure Transport to deliver straight to their customers' homes. You send us the order details; we handle the delivery door to door on one truck, with the care your brand depends on. If your products are easily marked or broken, see our fragile goods transport service.
"We have used Matt and team to deliver our beds around the North Island for many, many years. It is imperative they are delivered safely - looked after very well in transit - and that our happy customers receive excellent, friendly, timely service."
- Kim, Luxury Orthopaedic Beds LtdTail Lift Delivery Questions
Do all your trucks have tail lifts?
Yes. Every truck in our fleet has a tail lift, so any delivery can be lowered safely to ground level - no forklift or loading dock needed at the delivery address.
Can you deliver a ranch slider to a house?
Yes. Ranch sliders and aluminium or uPVC joinery are some of our most common residential deliveries. They travel upright and strapped, and come off the truck on the tail lift. See our joinery freight service for more.
Where will the driver leave my item?
At ground level at the agreed spot - usually the garage, carport or front of the house, or the right area on a building site. If an item will need two people to move, tell us when you book so we can plan for it.
Do you deliver outside Auckland?
Yes. We deliver to homes daily across Metro Auckland, and on our weekly runs to Northland, Waikato, the Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Manawatū and Wellington.
Can you deliver to rural addresses?
Often, yes. Tell us the full address when you request a quote and we'll confirm access and the delivery day.
I bought something on TradeMe - can you collect it?
Yes. We collect from the seller and deliver to your door. See TradeMe and large item pickup.
